The vibrant coastal city of Virginia Beach is home to a flourishing local culinary scene, rich history, a variety of arts and entertainment and family-friendly attractions that keeps locals and visitors entertained year-round. This kid-friendly tour uses Virginia Beach’s many bike paths to help you navigate to 5 awesome local attractions that the whole family will love.

1. Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center

Whether you’re an avid marine lover or just enjoy exploring, there’s something for everyone at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. Come by and explore over 800,000 gallons of one of the best aquariums in the country. From hundreds of hands-on exhibits to their National Geographic 3D Theater, it’s hard to fit all that the Virginia Aquarium has to offer into just one trip.

2. Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium

Experience the natural world in an exciting new way at The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium. Kids (age 5+), teens, adults and groups can “take to the trees” above the Aquarium’s Nature Paths and across Owls Creek on one of our many “treetop trails” with thrilling “crossings” between tree platforms. (Imagine zip lining over Owls Creek!) With various levels of challenge from beginner to expert, there is something for every skill level!

3. Ocean Breeze Waterpark

Ocean Breeze Waterpark is only 2 miles south of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and the only full scale water park in Hampton Roads. A visit to this islandthemed destination offers more smiles per gallon with over 30 water slides and attractions and a star spangled family raft ride! With free parking, free inner tubes, free sunscreen and famous locally for their 50 foot smiling gorilla ambassador, Hugh Mongous.

4. Motor World

Motor World is Your Place to Race providing fun and excitement for all ages. Motor World is the largest Go-Kart Complex on the East Coast featuring 10 Go-Kart Tracks, 14 different style go-karts, 250 karts total, bumper boats, kiddy rides, arcade, games, food and more. Check out the 2 largest and most challenging miniature golf courses in Virginia Beach. This 21-acre park has fun for all ages.

5. Pizza, Poke and Tacos

Zeke’s – Poke Bowls may be the perfect beach food, and Zeke’s Beans and Bowls does poke right. Their tuna poke bowls are a fresh local favorite that you just have to try. We like the O.G. Poke, with tuna, shayu, sesame oil, green onion, sesame seeds, and red rock salt served with rice.

Pizza Chapel – Come into Pizza Chapel to enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere and incredible pizza, as well as wings and more.

Gringos Taqueria – Gringos Taqueria, located near the Virginia Beach oceanfront, offers a variety of Baja style tacos, burritos, and much more. We use only the freshest ingredients in all of our traditional recipes – we don’t even have a freezer. Like fish tacos? (Mmmm our favorite!) We guarantee that our homemade habanero cream sauce will have your mouth watering for a second serving. Margaritas? Oh yeah, we got that too! We fresh squeeze our sour mix and mix it with freshly made simple syrup and top-shelf tequila to make our Baja style margarita. If you prefer, let us open your favorite domestic or import brew. Thanks to all of our lifelong locals Gringo’s has been voted Virginia Beach’s best fish tacos for 5 years running. Come taste for yourself!
